Still, is it not more secure if referrers are not sent by default and then the add-on set to forge root (and possibly whitelist as necessary), or can it not override the browser setting in such a way?

Or in other words, given an add-on set to forge by default is the browser setting best left to send by default or set not to send?

I forge to send root by default and if I have issues I whitelist the site that doesn't play nice with forged referrers.

If you use use Sonarr, setting dom.storage.enabled to false, breaks Sonarr's GUI.
