that is July 2010 ... by then the 2nd gen of DX10 games will be out and i think my HD2900xt will be like a 9700p is now with STALKER and Oblivion.

maybe if i get two for xfire ... but no way in heck will even an Ultra GTX be upper-midrange in mid2010

things are moving much faster now... get an xbox360 if you want to play the games in 3 years like now

Thats a given. Do you think nvidia will try making their new video cards $1000 for the highest end one ?

it depends on AMD's success or failure and to a lesser extent - for now - on intel
--1,000 dollars is not such a stretch from $850 ... and there are guys that would be proud to say they paid $2000 for ultra sli

Why would someone be proud they paid $2000 for two Geforce 8800 Ultras in SLI ? Seems like a waste. They may be able to game at a higher resolution for longer with new games but thats about it. By the time the games are out though there will be new video cards that are just as fast as their two sli cards or faster.
