ABORTION - Why we know what we're doing is wrong.

CAUTION: This is a controversial subject (obviously). This is also a highly pro-life sermon. However, for those who would object that this is religious propaganda, the arguments presented do notcome from the bible (since the bible doesn't speak of abortion directly).

FATHER, FORGIVE, FOR WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING.htm

Audio MP3 recording of sermon. (over 30 min long)

edit:
Four years ago, I was a highschool senior and a passionate pro-life athiest (not simply prolife because of religious pressure). I had a girlfriend who I was sexually involved with. One night, I had unprotected sex with her. All that night I was terrified that she would become pregnant. I was SO TERRIFIED that my life would be different from that day on. I might not have been able to go to college, get a high paying job, etc. etc... I know many of you have experienced this fear, so you know what I'm talking about. We talked about our options if she would become pregnant. I had heard that they had "morning after" pills available, so I had her go to the doctor and get some. I felt the trapped feeling slipping away. She took the pills, and killed anything that might have conceived the night before. I killed any human that could have already started to develop. Some freedom. U2 once said in a song "What you thought was freedom, ended up to be bondage." I think that's often true.

Ho boy.. you're seriously wanting to start a flame war, aren't you? In my opinion, there is just no point, since no amount of argument will change anyone's mind on this subject (you either believe in the Right to Life, or support the woman's Right to Choose, and there is no middle ground).

This is a waste of time.

Why is it that people think that their beliefs don't change? I was an atheist my whole life, and I became a Christian 2.5 years ago. Give it a chance and read it. Please.

Not again.

Look, abortion is going to happen, legal or not. The only way you're going to minimize it is to minimize unwanted pregnancies.

Besides, this makes a damn good argument for keeping abortion legal.

And this sort of flamebait isn't your best bet in changing other people's minds (IMHO). Use your head, chief.

it isn't really your business to get involved (meaning people who go and protest in front of abortion clinics) cause no matter what you say if the woman decides to get an abortion, she is not going to change her mind because some people shoved signs in her face. Leave them alone. I believe in the right of the woman to choose.

Amused One, do you see the schizophrenia in that? Why don't we start simply killing criminals? I bet that would help the crime rate A LOT! Or how about the systematic killing of poor people. I bet that would help the crime rates. Besides that, it assumes that the only people who get abortions are people who would have criminals for children.

IMO:

Since it's still a scientific uncertainty as to what defines a living, breathing human in it's "prebirth" stage, I say that no one person can conclusively argue for or against abortion, except if that person has some type of serious and detailed knowledge of human cell biology. Period.

Is that debatable? :D
