Lets share how you tweak your ABit Th7-II (Raid) motherboard.

Bios version: 77 Beta
CPU speed: 1808 Mhz
FSB: 100
APG: 66.66
PCI: 33.33
Memory: 4x
Voltage: 1.5v default

Stock Intel heatsink/fan
Idle temps (afternoon when the temps are the warmest in my room): 38-41c cpu, 28-31c motherboard.
Full load: 45-47c cpu, 33-35c motherboard.

Except for turning off the onboard sound, I didn't change any other option in Bios.

Bios version: 38 Official
CPU speed: 2016 Mhz (1.8A)
FSB: 112
APG/PCI: Fix
Memory: 4x
Voltage: 1.5v default

Temps 45 Idle / 52-53 Load at 2Ghz. 42/50 at stock.
Stock Heat Sink / Fan with AS3.

I tried going to 2.1, but it BSOD's unless I drop the RAM down to 3x which I don't want to do for a few more Mhz. My RAM is Samsung week 10 2002, but they accidentally gave me 8 Device 256MB instead of 16 device, but I am not worried about it.

BIOS: th7h_7d
512MB Corsair Samsung
Wire Mod to Pins 1,2,3,4
AVC Sunflower

Scenario 1
P4 2.0A@2.5 1.625 volts
Memory at 500 4X
FSB 125
AGP/PCI FIX
Idle - 38C-41C
Load - 53C-57C

Rock solid P95 stable

Scenario 2
P4 2.0A@2.7 1.875 volts
Memory at 400 3X
FSB 133
AGP/PCI FIX
Idle - 44C
Load - 59C-63C

Rock solid P95 stable

Scenario 2 runs too hot for my air cooled rig and the RAM can't do 4X, so I choose to run at 2.5 with more memory bandwidth and reasonable voltage and temps.

EDIT - I just flashed to the new th7h_7d BIOS. Get it here

Th7-2 with 1.6a and retail HSF
bios 39C
1) fsb=133 with pci fix option cpu=2133mhz memory=4X Voltage 1.65 in bios 1.51 actual

stable, good ram bandwidth

2) fsb=150 with pci fix cpu=2400 ram =3X voltage =1.8V in bios 1.65 Actual
stable for use but prime 95 gives errors. I suspect the retail HSF is not enough for 2400 or it might require more juice. Also the load temp are in 58-60 neighbourhood.

The new 7d bios is out and it totally resolves the cold boot issues. I just flashed and it appears to be perfect.

Ever turn your machine on from a total off (cold) position and it doesn't boot, no video etc.? It is common accross alot of P4 platforms and not just the TH7II/850. I was occasional for me, but I run 24x7, so I rarely booted cold anyway. It shows as a code 26 on the TH7II.

After reading one of the power supply threads on overclockers forum.here, I decided to do that mod. Now my 12V line is 12.10 at zero load and 11.98 at full load. Whats more important is that the 2.4ghz (150 fsb)
looks more stable. running prime 95 for 2 hours and has not crashed yet. (use to crash under 1 hour before the mod) The temps are higher than my liking (59 C) but hopefully that can be fixed with a better HSF.

Abit TH7-II ( no RAID )
P4 1.6a @ 2133
2133/133 setting
Beta BIOS TH7H_7C.B01
512MB Samsung Memory @ PC533
Volt: Bios 1.625v (MBM: 1.59 - 1.60)
Alpha something (The only P4 heatsink by Alpha) w/ 28cfm ADDA fan
Temp: Idle 34c, Full load 42c

So far, ABIT's new Beta BIOS eliminated my cold boot problem.
