Abit or Asus?

I`m going to build a system and would like some oppinions as of which motherboard to use.I`ve about decided on the Abit KT7A-raid.The other one I was looking at is the Asus A7V133.Just wanted to get a few oppinions before I bought one.
 
Ensure you have a bios update handy if you go with the Asus. I ran into some problems with early versions.
 
I owuld personally go Asus! I have quite alot of Asus stuff for my primary comp! Asus Mobo (K7M), Asus DVD-Rom 8X, and Asus CD-Writer 8X4X32.

I love Asus stuff they are a good company to go for! Abit is also a good computer but won't match Asus that well I don't think cause Asus has more experience with mobos and comp gear I think?! Correct me if I am wrong!

Actually my experience of building my own personal system has been totally trouble free and painless with my Duron 700Mhz on my ABIT KT7A (non-RAID). However I did experience unusual boot problems with my frinds KT7 RAID and ASUS A7V.

The only complaint I have about my KT7A is that my Duron won't run at the 133FSB setting 🙁
 
I haven't tested these 2 boards in particular, but both make decent boards all around. I'd say Asus has a history of making ONLY quality products while occasionally, Abit will release a substandard product. Just my .02.

Asus KT7? 🙂 Either board is good, I have always been a fan of Abit (still have my trusty BX6 rev 2). But I hear alot of good things about the ASUS boards.
 
Never had any problems with either, although...
Asus are clearly manufactured better, but...
I do generally like the Abit BIOS better.
What a help, huh?
I think the concensus is definitely with Asus here tho 🙂
 
i would have to vote asus....although i use pentiums i have both abit and asus systems...i like the asus better....plus you might want to wait...the next generation of via chipsets is due to hit the street that support the ddr 266mhz features...asus now only has the amd 760 chipset
 
well i agree with the others..both mobo are good.I think you gonna look into wat you need. Need a raid or not?

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but it was my understanding that the Abit KT7A is better suited to using AMD future processors, and the Asus board might not be able to use them.

This might be something to consider when you decide.
 
My old Asus T2P4 is still a daily driver. My two-year-old P2B-LS is still kickin'. My next board will be Asus, too.
