Hey guys I'm trying to do a reinstall of winxp on my nv7-133r and when windows is all done I run the nforce driver i downloaded from abits site but I keep having a problem with my audio drivers. It can't find the driver for the multimedia audio controller. I have done windows updates and have gotten a nforce driver from nvidias site as well but I can't seem to get the audio working. I've had this board for a while now and I can't find the cd that came with it which would probably solve all my problems. Anyone know how i can fix this problem? i thought nforce drivers were all covered with 1 driver pack install.

any help would be appreciated.

btw this is winxp with service pack 1 and all the updates.

I just installed the DW BIOS and a fresh install of XPSP2 on my NV7-133R and I'm having exactly the same problem. Since you posted this message before SP2 came out, I wonder if the BIOS upgrade hosed it. Maybe I'll downgrade the BIOS and try again.

I had this same problem with a NV133R. If I remember right. I installed xpsp1, the original sound drivers from the CD, and then finally the updated drivers. It's not very clean, but it was the only way I could get the sound to work.

I finally got this working based on a vague post I found on nForcersHQ. Once you've installed the nForce drivers, you are left with one unknown device. A normal driver install has an NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec Interface and an NVIDIA nForce MCP Audio Processing Unit. In the broken install, the audio codec is missing. So I forced the unknown device to install the audio codec driver and sound started working again.

Here's what I did to install Multimedia Audio Controller. I have SP1 installed. I tried everything before this and search google for a bit and nothing. I went into BIOS and disabled nvidia APU in Integrated Peripherals and when I got into windows xp w/ sp1 it found the device and I installed the 5.10 audio driver. I'm going to try to enable APU again. Hope this helps.
