Abit mobos with SCSI and Vid probs??

I have heard many people comment about problems running SCSI over an Abit mobo. My friend can not get his Adaptec 2930Ultra to work with the Abit KG7-Raid at all. Is there something he can do to get it working? It will not even boot up with it in the board.

I have also heard various people comment about running Asus video cards in an Abit mobo. I have known several people who have tried the Asus cards back to the original Geforce and to the K7a board. Has anyone got a recent Abit board to work with any Asus video card?

I am thinking about upgrading my machine to the KR7a-Raid and maybe an Asus card(but probably a Gainward or a Radeon 8500 if they're as good as people say). I also have an Adaptec 2940 scsi card that I would like to use but I'd like to make sure that I'm not going to run into problems in the future cause I can't get the cards to work with the mobo. What are people's experiences with Abit in these respects?? Thanx.

I never had a prob running my Asus 7700 on a Abit board. My current setup includes a Asus 8200 delux and a Adaptec 2930 on a KG7 raid without a prob. Only prob I ran into was trying to run a Netgear nic card on the KG7.

FWIW I've used both Initio(950P) and Adaptec(running a 2940AU right now) SCSI cards on my KT7A without any major problems. Did your friend try the card in a different slot? What if any devices(terminated correctly?) did he have connected to the card? Did he try enabling/disabling LUN support?
