ABIT KV8 Boot Problem, please help!

Just got my 2800+ retail / kv8 abit mobo combo from newegg for 198. Everything is up and running great, however, whenever I reboot, I get these strange video errors, unlike anything ive seen before. The screen is all messed up with what appears to be a low quality picture stretched out and deformed on the screen as soon as it reboots. To fix this all I have to do is reset the CMOS, but it's still a PITA.
Anyone know whats up? Im typing on this computer now and ive been playing farcry all afternoon but whenever i restart, i have to reset the CMOS. Already tried flashing to the newest BIOS, and tried the failsafe settings, but no luck. My rams in the right spots, and my 5700 ultra works fine and has never done that before.
 
Did you have the same problem before you flashed to the new BIOS? Did you use the ABIT zip package (i.e. flash utility, BIOS on a DOS boot disk) or one of the winflash utilities (not that it makes a difference necessarily)?
 
It was my video card actually, apparently my 5700 ultra isnt compatable with any bios revision so im selling it on ebay... sucks because i got a really really good deal on that card and now i dont know if im gonna get a 9800 pro or just... i dont know, sucks though

Really? That's very odd; I'm using the exact same combo, with an Nvidia reference 5700U, and I'm not encountering the problem you mention.
 
Yeah confused the hell outta me and the abit tech guy. Running on a geforce 2 ultra until my 9800 pro gets here... friday... can't wait, just hope its a little bit faster, but Im not getting my hopes up. The 5700 ultra is running in another machine, but its on ebay right now, so its outta here =)
