ABIT KT7A V1.3 XP Thoroughbred Support?

I have read that the KT7A v1.3 supports the new XP CPU's upto XP2000+ and the older Palamino CPU's upto XP2100+.

Why would the support of the newer revision be lower than the older version?

I am currently running an XP1600+ on the v1.3 and it would be nice to upgrade to (have the option of ) a Thoroughbred CPU at a later date.

I'm actually now running a TB in my KT7A (XP1700+) from newegg.
I had read that these CPU's were unlocked from the factory, however, this would not appear to be the case and will be putting this CPU into my K7S5A board and overclocking it using the 166FSB hopefully 🙂

i have this board as well and could not get 166 fsb with cheepos or honeyx bios (i've also read it has boot problems (does not boot) at 166) i did how ever get 160 fsb on my abit. in any case good luck
