OK...here's the situation. I have an Abit KT7A-RAID board with 512MB SDRAM, AMD T'bird 1GHz, 46.5GB IBM HDD, Leadtek GeForce2 GTS Pro graphics, etc.
A few weeks ago I noticed that the fan noise was significantly diminished inside my case. Upon inspection I found that my graphics card fan had quit alltogether. Leadtek was wonderful...standing behind the card and sending me a brand new GTS Pro. I popped it back into the machine and I still get the diminished fan sound and no beeps...rebooted and the fan sounds came back to normal...even a long beep, but still no video.
So I am wondering...does this sound like a problem with the KT7A...or perhaps with my AMD T'bird...or ??? Everything was working fine until the fan on the GTS stopped...now nothing seems to work correctly. All the fans are spinning (heatsink fan, graphics card fan, case fans x 2, northbridge fan). Seems strange that at first no boot up "beeps"...then one longer than normal beep on one of my boot up attempts...but all the time no video. I even swapped out monitors to see if that might be the problem, but neither monitor lights up.
Any suggestions???? Could it be a failed memory problem? Any suggestions will be most welcomed. I really don't want to have to buy all new parts swapping out one part at a time until I find the culprit...but that may be the only solution.
Thanks for the input ahead of time...chaplndave
