Abit KT7A-RAID, Asus A7V-133, or MSI Turbo-R ?

I'd wait a week or two to see more. I've read some frustraing posts about ABIT's RAID and cases where more than 4 PCI slots are used, so I think it's better to wait for MSI's response.
 
Do a search of forums Im seeing alot of threads people having trouble with pro2A the turbo will be no different. so get the KT7A
 
Abit. Simply cos I have an old ISA SCSI card for my scanner 😛

Damn thing is built better than the current POS scanners that are going around 🙂
 
Lots of good options for KT133A mobos. Soltek, with the auto-overclock for OC newbies. Iwill KK266, with good 4 channel sound. Gigabyte for the Hard Ocer that has to use dips, no wimpy BIOS stuff (Dual BIOS, if you have a badflash, very nice). Epox, great value. Abit, if you like to do the RMA dance.
 
It's strange how I hear about Abit's being RMA'd... I've owned 3 Abit boards in my lifetime (BM6, KT7, and KT7-RAID), all of them overclock and used constantly in my household, yet nothing has ever gone wrong. Maybe just good luck 🙂
 
KiLLaZ Same here I have owned 4 abit boards and never RMA any of them. I owned one MSI and had to RMA that one strange as it sounds BX Master
 
Your chances as an individual of RMAing an ABIT are only 1 in 10, but thats at least 3 times higher than most other mobos. Its just too high if you run a business.
 
I'm currently on a P133, and it's been a long time since i first wanted to upgrade.. I'm monitoring the market closely since the K6-III! 🙂
Anyway, I've decided i'll go for a KT133A board, and i'll probably go for the MSI Turbo, unless there are too many bad comments in the forums/reviews. I was determined to get the Abit KT7 back when it was nice having either Abit or Asus and a Duron, but somethings got burned in my pc and i had to spend money to replace them and wait.. so, here i am, waiting for the MSI Turbo board 🙂
I've changed my mind about Abit, since many people have problems with more than 3-4 PCI slots used, with all 3 DIMM slots occupied and because their RMA rate it just too high.. I know they're overclockers' boards, and if someone does something wrong (too much heat, too much voltage or anything), he'll probably give it back for RMA, but Asus and MSI have been producing some good overclockers' boards lately (you know.. the A7V) and their RMA is much lower than Abit's..

PS. If anyone discovers any MSI Turbo review plz post it somewhere!
 
Today I just purchased, and am now using, an Abit KT7A-RAID, Duron 650 running 865--1.60v, 6.5*133, Micron PC-100, FOP32-1 fan...no other changes...running 6 hours without a problem...temps at a cool 32 degrees...I am impressed, and have not even begun to REALLY tweak it.

I agree with KiLLaZ about Abit's being RMA'd... I've own 2 Abit boards (Bx6-r2, and KT7A-RAID), both of them overclocked...no real issues...very pleased...See "My Rig's"...look at #1.

Go with the Abit KT7A-RAID.
 
For indivduals - RMA may not be a factor (1 in 10 will complain/whine). However I spoke to a few vendors and they do not stock Abit Boards for the simple reason being quality! I even enquired how they figured that - they were in the business a long time and boards like MSI, Gigabyte, AOpen and Asus were much better business.
 
My vote's for the KT7A. Mine works flawlessly @ 150FSB and it has not been rebooted, crashed, or turned of since I built it a few months ago. I had two KA7-100's that gave me no trouble at all. I think Abit is much better now then they ever were, but I guess it's tough to shake a bad reputation. There have been problems with all of the KT133A boards..this is a computer hardware forum after all and you will see more people having trouble than not. After all, not many people post things like "Please help...just got my new KT133A board and it's running great!". 🙂
