Abit KT7A-Raid and T-Bird 1.2ghz, is this a good setup?

Is that good? I am looking into getting a new computer and putting it together myself, and those are what I am leaning towards, I dont plan on really doing much overclocking (maybe a little). So are those stable together? Thanks!!

Thats the board I have and its awesome. The 1.2 T-Bird is the best now so I would say that is a GREAT setup.

Yes. That is a blazing setup. You'll get blazing speeds with that setup (as long as your hard drive, video card, etc. are up to par 🙂). I have an Asus A7V133 with a Thunderbird 1.0GHz @ 1.2GHz. I can't complain, nor will I complain. Have fun with your system 😀.

I am getting a geforce2 ultra vid card for it, but what HD do you recommend to go along with it to keep the speed up? thanks, glad that I am doing something right for once!! HEHE

A dual IBM GXP75 (30.7GB) in a Raid 0 array would be nice 😀. Just a suggestion. An expensive one though. But if you are not worried about price, then go for it 😀.

Well, I am kinda worried about price..LOL...but what 1 HD by itself would be good?? Would the IMB DTALA45 or something like that be good? its a 45gig 7200rpm ata 100 hd, so i imagine it would be. thanks!!

Great set-up...I have the Abit KT7A-Raid with a T-Bird 800@1064, GlobalWin FOP32-1, WW BIOS, everything in BIOS set for max. performance....VERY stable...highly recommend....just get quality PC-133 RAM...I did have issues pushing up the FSB with good PC-100 RAM until I got some of that incredible PC-133 RAM from compuwiz1...that stuff's from another freakin' planet ...soon as I put it in...BOOM, no more issues...I can go up to 1100, but 1064 seems to be a sweet spot...no lock's, nothing....play UT for hours, and never go over 45C.

Just my $0.02

I was also gettinga abit KT7a w/o raid

and a 1.2ghz amd

i already have a wd 30gb 72000

-- will my v3 3000 and sblive! run well on the abit board??

and also i'm getting a toshiba dvd drive 16x

i have another question...

if i have everything new hd, mobo, cpu, and dvd...

i would set bios first and reboot, correct??

then install hd??

confused on that...

almost my setup, except my tbird 1ghz is overclocked to 1.2, but I'm using the kt7a raid in raid 0, this system rocks..I'm loving the hell out of it..once you learn the bios, which is easy anyway, you can tweak the hell out of this board in seconds..even if you don't overclock much your system should rock..have fun

That's a great setup! I have an ABIT KT7 and duron700@936, and I am looking to upgrade to the same as what you are getting.
