The ver 6.00pg is for the version of AWARD BIOS control software, not the
version of the actual system BIOS (yeah it confused me too.).

The faq you found earlier actually covers that:

<< How do I tell what version of BIOS is currently installed on the motherboard?

At boot-up, when the screen with the yellow Energy star logo appears, look at the very bottom
row of the text, which briefly appears. You'll see something that reads in the format:
05/11/2001-8363-686B-6A6LMA19C-ZT.
The date at the beginning of the line is the release date of the BIOS version currently
installed. The next two strings describe the motherboard Northbridge and Southbridge chips
respectively and the penultimate set of numbers and letters (in this example, 6A6LMA19C) is
the BIOS part number. The last pair of letters on the right (ZT in this example) designate
the BIOS version currently installed
>>

All models (raid and non-raid) of the KT7 and KT7a mboards use the same BIOS updates.

The 3C bios is supposed to be essentially the same as the ZT bios that came before it,
I haven't heard any bad reports about either version, so they should be safe to
update to. Just make sure you read the instructions and its probably best to
run the update from a safe boot floppy. If you understand the commands to give
to the flash program, you can even back up the old BIOS file in case you want to
go back to it later.
