Abit KT7-Raid with CD ROM drive problems

I just got an abit kt7-raid w/ a 1.2 axia ghz yesterday, and im having problems with any cd rom drive i hook up to it. All the cd rom drives i hook up to it are detected in bios, but when i get to windows 98, it doesnt recognize i have a cd rom drive. Any suggestions?

what channel are you putting them on? are you putting them on the raid controller or the via? also are they set as master or slave?

ive set the cd rom as primary master, primary slave, secondary master, and secondary slave. the raid isnt being used at all. is there something in the kt7-r bios i shouldve changed or somethin?

I had a similar problem with my Kt7a-raid it was detecting my cdr as a bunch of alphanumeric numbers. Anyway I flashed the latest bios then cleared cmos and upon first boot after that I went into BIOS and had it auto detect all IDE drives and its been fine ever since.
