Abit KT7 or Asus A7A?

hehhheeheh, asus a7v not a7a , my recommend is abit kt7, i am really hate asus a7v because i ever owe this board, and make me headache

I picked the Abit KT7 (without Raid) for several reasons. I was impressed with the reviews I read and the recommendations of others here at AnandTech. I also liked the notion of being able to change clock and FSB settings via software. (What a relief after years of physically moving jumpers around on the board!)

In addition, the Abit has one ISA slot. As I recall, the Asus board doesn't have any. I realize ISA is a technology on it's way out the door. I'm just reluctant to give up my trusty USR 56K modem. I keep it as a backup to my DSL service and it's come in handy more than once!

one word "soft menu 3". wait maybe that was more than one word, but oh well. Also you can find them for a few bucks cheaper. and when i say a few, i litterly mean a few.

IS that all, cmon folks lets see some proof in the numbers.

I would like to know if that A7V can be more overclockable that the Kt7 raid.

I myself am having fits trying to get the jumpers all set to get some overclocking on the A7V,,,,

I would be a much more happy person right now if I had an ABIT

I have read that u can also goose the voltage up higher on the ABIT if OCing is your game
two friends have done it without any hassles..one friend has his D600 @ 1050Mhz using 1.75V

However there are problems with the SBLIve drivers for some reason (SB 16 emulation) - check out the posts here..

I just installed a D700 in an ABIT tonight and I really don't understand the reasoning behind sticking the thermistor for the CPU vertically within the Socket A....it is impossible to seat the CPU like that..then u need to bend the thermistor back to get the CPU to fit..not a great thought on a brand new "just-out-the-box" motherboard.

The thermistor is stuck there cause in socket a cpus(which lack an internal diode for temp measurement), that is the only way left to approximately read cpu temp.

Indeed, however, the thermistor is normally angled to allow for fitment of the CPU - unlike the ABIT motherboard - as I said very strange mounting...
have u seen the ABIT KT7 version?
