ABIT KT7 is asking me to put it out of its misery

Hello everyone,

I am getting tearing and white pixels on my screen whenever I set my BIOS to anything more than the absolute minimum. If I make a change, it takes 3 times to reboot and I get a green line at the top of my screen when booting up during one of those 3 times. SANDRA states that my mem, ISA, PCI and AGP bus speeds are too high and that I should lower the FSB. I tried but it is on the lowest 100/33. Should I replace my ABIT with an MSI or something more stable? How does AnandTech get their test KT7s stable if I am using many of the same components they recommend? Any suggestions would help. :disgust:

I would get the board RMA'ed, sounds like it's defective. I've got 4 KT7-Raid's and 1 KT7 and they are all a little picky about what goes in which PCI slot, but they all perform well other than that.

Before sending it back, are their BIOS settings that I need to fiddle with? I just got the MB last mos. If I were to rma it, should I skip the ABIT and go with something else? From reading through the forum I have noticed that ABIT boards are unstable.
