Abit KT7 and Aureal Vortex 2 Card Help

I seem to be having a compatibility problem with my VIA chipset and the Aureal vortex boards. when audio attempts to be played, my system will cut out after a few minutes, and not play at all afterwards. Occasionally, I will get lock ups. I know it is a compatibility issue as I installed my old Soundblaster 16 card and everthing works fine. But I really want my MX300 tom work. I have read that others are having the same problem, but no one has posted a fix. Curious if there is a Bios Update, or driver I can install. Thanks

had this same problem. Could never get it to work. You can try the latest drivers from www.vortexofsound.com but they didn't work for me. I went the SB Live

Which slot do you have the sound card in? Make sure it is not in Slot #1 (PCI) I think that #2 or #4 is best. You may have to move around until you get it right. Or it may be something different. I have a generic vortex 2 sound card and have no problems. I think I have the sound card on #4 or #5 I can not remember.
