Abit KR7A RAID RAM problems

Ok heres my problem.

I bought 4 256mb pc2100 DDR registered ECC ram from crucial about 3 weeks ago to put into my new kr7a raid mobo.
I put the RAM into the ddr slots but the computer only detects the ram in slot 1. I've tried reseating the memory many times as well as swapping slots but still any memory in slots 2-4 do not get detected in the bios or windows.

Is it a defectice motherboard or do I need to get regular unbuffered ram?

Thanks in advance.

Viahardware.com has a FAQ site dedicated to Abit's KR7a motherboards, both raid and non-raid. It is quite extensive and might have the answer you are looking for. Good luck.

I had problems getting my second stick of 256M unbuffered crucial RAM to be recognized by my brand new kr7a-raid. But, after reseating it so firmly I thought I was going to crack the board, it finally saw the stick in the second slot.
