Abit KG7 video card issue

I am having big problems getting my Abit KG7 to post. I keep getting the long-short-short beep sequence, which I'm pretty sure means video card problems. I am using a Jaton nVidia TNT card with 16mb of RAM. I would normally just assume that this is a video card issue except for the fact that I got it to post one time and was able to get into the BIOS configuration. I cannot figure out what I did to make it work that one time, but I do remember seeing some BIOS messgae about a checksum error. After I made a simple BIOS change in Boot order (to boot from CDROM) I saved changes and exited and then after it restarted my monitor did not receive a signal and there were no error beeps. Since then I have tried every RAM configuration possible (trying each stick on its own, etc.) and have disconnected every non-vital peripheral. I keep re-seating the video card but I keep getting the long-short-short beep or occasionally a blank screen (i.e. no video signal) with no error beeps.

The blank screen makes me think it may be an intermitent video card problem.

What should I do? Return the video card, try something else?

Thanks

The mobo is new, correct? Unfortunately, Abit had an issue with bad AGP slots on some KG7s. That's why I didn't buy one. You've already tried reseating the card...that was gonna be my first suggestion. Do you have another AGP card you could try? Maybe borrow one from a friend, just for a minute? How is your power supply? If it's at least a brand name 300watter, you're fine, but if it's a chinzy little 100w jobbie, you will need to upgrade. AGP cards suck a lot of juice. If it's not the ps and another card doesn't work either, I'd RMA the board. Good luck to you. :)

brand new Mobo
Antec 300W PS
Everything is brand new

I'll try later today to swap in a video card that I know works, I just don't have any extra ones here (I'm making this for a friend at his place)

Thanks

Your PS is fine. It really does sound like a bad AGP slot; a known issue with the KG7s. Good luck.

I have a 256 and a 128 crucial pc2100

The one time that i was able to get into BIOS I had both sticks in...

I wish I had an *extra* pc sitting around... I'm gonna have to pull my video card out of my main pc at home (don't want to take it out of the server) and test it later today...

even if you have bad memory (which isn't the case) it would still post. Its either the video card or a bad AGP slot. If you have a spare card lying around to test
it would have been great.
