Abit IT7 sound problem

Does any Abit IT7 owner successfully install the Realtek sound driver? I can never make the sound work. After I install the ALC650 driver on win2k, the sound manager icon shows up on taskbar. But when I click on it, sound manager doesn't show up. When I click on volume control, I get an error msg saying no sound device is found. Any idea on what the problem is? Thanks.

Yes. I did. I set the AC97 Audio in BIOS to AUTO as well. Is there any jumper/BIOS that I should set? Thanks.

Yes. I read through manual. I even went to Abit's web site. But I can't find any useful info. Send email to tech support and get no response. Is there any way to determin if it's a hardware problem, or software problem? Thanks.

There is no yellow question mark in the device manager. No matter I enable or disable AC97 in BIOS, there is no change in device manager.
