Abit IS7 randomly detects CDROM

Confuse

Since the Abit boards don't seem to want to send me my registration information, maybe you guys could help. I have a Sony 48x24x48x CDRW connected to the Secondary IDE as Master. Its the only drive in the IDE connector. When I boot up my computer gets stuck in "Detecting IDE..." sometimes it detects the CDRW and sometimes it doesn't. But this all began after I upgraded my board to revision 13 and continued on the newest revision 14. The drive works in windows, its just that it takes a few seconds to detect it or not detect it and its annoying at bootup. Any ideas or similar issues with it? Thanks!

Have you tried sticking in a new IDE cable? One thing you could try. Have you double checked the cables are really plugged in 100% properly, not loose at all? That's what I can think of for now, fault cable/cable connection.
