Ok, so here are the components I already have for my build:

CPU: Q6600 G0
Ram: 4x1GB Crucial ballistix 800mhz cas 4-4-4-12
Video: BFG 8800GT
CPU cooling: Tuniq Tower
Case: antec Nine Hundred
PS: Corsair 520HX (might upgrade to 620 if needed but will test this first)

As you can see, the only thing missing is the mb. At first I was going for a 680i board for SLI but can't seem to find the EVGA A1 in stock anywhere and am thinking that SLI maybe is not even worth it for my current 1680x1050 monitor.

so that brought me to P35 vs X38. PCIE 2.0 is not really necessary for 8800Gt so X38 is not worth it IMO.

So now that I decided I need P35, I can't for the life of me decide which one to get. I definitely need RAID, so at first I was looking at Gigabyte DSR3, but since DS3P is only a little more expensive and supposedly is a better overclocker I was leaning towards that. Then, I came across the IP35 PRO review here and am very impressed. I plan on shooting for a 400 mhz fsb in order to keep my ram at specified speed and timings at 1:1 ratio.
I almost pulled the trigger on the IP35 Pro just because of the uguru fan control. I thought it would be a great way to control case fan speed without needing a separate fan controller. But, I then figured out that this board will not allow fan speed control of Antec Tri-Cool fans that my case has (no rpm monitoring). So I figure I will add a Sunbeam Rheobus fan controller for all my fans.
Considering that I know have no need for UGURu (although it's nice, I could always monitor voltages and temps with something else) would you guys still take the IP35 pro over the DS3P? I figure the DS3P would be about $30 cheaper.

How do they compare overclocking wise?

Is the Ip35 pro a better overclocker than the non pro IP35?

How does the Gigabyte p35 DS4 compare to the others? It is the same price as the IP35 Pro but would it be any better than the DS3P or IP35 non-pro overclocking wise?

I'm sorry if my writing seems confusing... it's just that I've been trying to decide for a while and at this point I am pretty close to just flipping a coin and choosing that way!!!

I considered the DS4 and IP35 Pro for my new build. What tipped the scales for me (to the Abit board) were: orientation of the SATA connectors (the gigabyte boards could pose a problem if ever running Crossfire), more room around the CPU for large coolers, rear panel cmos reset, and uGuru control over fans and such. Just look at the specs and layout of the board and decide what are the most important factors for you... they're both good boards so it'll come down to the little things.
