You'll need to use your Paypal account (log in to NewEgg and enter "paypal20" in promo box). Now click on Paypal option to be redirected to Paypal (need to have a Paypal account). Once you're in Paypal, you'll see $115 - $6.61 shipping - $20 Paypal promo code - any applicable tax. There's also a $40 mail-in rebate good till 8/16/07. Final cost is $61.60 plus tax.

This should be the best all-around P35 choice based on PRICE AND PERFORMANCE. Asus and Gigabyte better come up with a few promos to stay competitive with this board. Keep in mind that most PC users don't need RAID. 1394 and ESATA can also be added to this board for about $30. That still 50% cheaper than the Abit IP35 Pro with a crippled 1394 port (14.4MB/s).

NewEgg doesn't offer the cheapest everyday price, but they always manage to come up with these SPECIAL DEALS a few times a year.

In for three boards. At this price, this board should easily rank as the best P35 board under $110.

slickdeals ftw

Serpent Royal you might want to edit your last post, it is $114.99, not $155.

Can anybody measure the height from the PCB to the very top of the NB heatsink? That heatsink looks tall, and my Scythe Ninja revB cooler barely gets over my gigabyte ds3's NB heatsink +40mm fan.

It's about 44-45mm to the top of the NB heatsink. I would like to get a ultima 90 cooler, but it doesn't look like it will fit. Any one have any recommendations on a good northbridge cooler that will work with an ultima 90 or Artic Cooling freezer 7?

Lock-wire a small fan to the NB and put that fan under the control of the Zalman Fanmate 2. I don't see the need for additional cooling if the case has adequate air flow.

anybody can verify that a scythe ninja revb will fit on this board?

on some other forum i was reading some people's (who are probably wrong) posts saying gigabytes p35 boards are fully compatible with penryn and abit's might not be. not true right? abits p35 should support penryn?

I find that a bit ironic seeing as how Gigabyte haven't released 1333fsb BIOS for their rev.1 965Ps ...
They should do but abit tend to stick to ndas so we won't know for sure until closer to their launch.

So these people have access to Peryn? I could give you the center line distance from the CPU to the NB heatsink if you're interested. New board should arrive tomorrow,

I took off my northbridge and southbridge heatsinks to clean and apply some artic silver. The northbridge has a little piece of rubber or something that is used as a thermal pad I guess. I took it off and put some artic silver in it's place. I hope the temps are slightly better because of it. Also the thermal paste on the southbridge was done quite poorly IMO.

that is highly unlikely since p35 mobos are specifically designed for penryn. p965, on the other hand...

It means that abit stick to non-disclosure agreements i.e. they don't leak stuff before they are meant to.
So for example they won't say anything about support for a certain family of CPUs before that CPU is released ...

OK thanks for the answers.

SerpentRoyal: I'm not concerned as much about the distance from the cpu seat to the northbridge, since currently my Scythe's fins are over the NB heatsink + fan of my 965P's nortbridge. I am more worried that the northbridge on the abit will be too tall, and therefore the scythe's fins will not be tall enough to fit over the northbridge. Someone earlier quoted a height, can that be confirmed (height from the bottom of the board (PCB) to the top of the nb heatsink).

Thanks again. Serpent you getting a new IP35E?

Bretto, let me know how your temps are and if doing that artic silver thing is worth it. Are the nb and sb fins easy to take off? Serpent said that the temps on the board are pretty good, so I dunno if its worth doing. Which AS are you using?

Newegg says that the board will be back in stock 8/14...i hope it gets back before the rebate expires on the 16th...

sorry if this has been asked before but is it really necessary to plug in the 4pin molex? i read the manual and it said that is to give additional power to the pci express slots. i'm thinking this is only for videocards that don't need addition power through a 6pin pci-e plug.

thinking of getting this board or the IP35 since its so cheap and has been getting good comments from users.

The NB Heatsink is pretty high. Like Heidfirst, I was able to get my freezer 7 pro in with some difficulty. I didn't cut anything though, so the NB heatsink and the Freezer's fan casing are touching. Here are some pictures to give you a better idea of what you'll have to deal with.

Overview
Detail 1
Detail 2

I was a little worried that I might mess up the contact with the NB and its heatsink, but it seems fine and temps are normal. I had considered going back to the stock heatsink, but everything is fine so I'm just leaving it this way.

I was also wondering about the molex connector. As you can see, I have mine connected. Not sure if it's necessary or not though.

Hello Kupe,
thank you for your images. Your RAM and case are the same as mine! Lookin stylin with that yellow/golden RAM plus blue mobo :) I really like your wiring job, looks very clean. Guess the raised mobo and modular PSU help a lot. Is the 80mm fan on your PSU loud?

What fan are you running on your uppermost HD bay (the one that faces your GPU)?

Is that tape I see that holds the name "IP35-E" (directly to the right of the northbridge)? Looks like Abit got a bit lazy in labeling their product...

Kupe can you do a quick measurement and tell me how tall the stock NB heatsink is? If you could measure from its base at the PCB to the very top of the heatsink, I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Ordered three boards. One extra for the test bench. Other two going to friends in GA and FL. I'll send you the position of the NB relative to the center line of the CPU socket when I get my board today.
