Abit ic7 max3 now or wait?

Should i buy the IC7-Max3 now or should i wait for a few months til the next hot thing comes out and eventually the price will go down on this mobo?

Friend has it, it's an awesome mobo but just wondering if buying it now is a little late. Opinions needed.

i would wait or get the asus p4c800 instead, i am not that impressed with the abit ic7-max3. not very stable with certain memory

you might wanna wait a couple weeks. there is a new revision (rev 1.1) of the board being issued that fixes a Vdimm problem. The revision 1.0 boards had problems maintaining DIMM voltages past 2.7V requiring a board repair to fix.

If you plan on running tight memory timings past 433MHz DDR with BH-5 RAM like Mushkin lvl2, you'll need reliable Vdimm beyond 2.7V.

Fixes VDIMM problem, but not the underlying VTT problem.

If anything, the Asus board is easier to carry out the Vdimm mod on but the majority wont be willing to whip out the soldering iron to fix it. I sure won't. Not much is mentioned though about the Epox 4pca3+ which also provides generous Vdimm.

Yep. EPoX 4PCA3+ is an EXCELLENT motherboard.
