Me and a buddy of mone are planning on building a new PC, and we are looking around a mobo's and have noticed this particular board. Abit GD8 Does anyone have one of these boards, or have any experience with it? If so, what are your thoghts? Let me give a few specs on what we are planning on putting on it.
3.4Ghz P4 650
4G of DDR
BFG/Nvidia 7800 GTX
Those are pretty much the major items that are going to go on it. I have heard a few bad things about some of these newer motherboards haveing problems with a really really slow PATA. Which is why I'm thinking of bringing up the idea to him of maybe going with a serial hard drive and CD, DVD drives instead of the older IDE. Or am I just woried over nothing? Thanks for any help, this is out first time of building one from scratch.
