Abit BX6 rev2 + ATA 100 controler?!?!

Hi folks!

I was wondering if the combination mentioned above would work for me?
Been hearing that my mobo works at ata33 and would not run any higher so installing a ata100 controler wouldnt work. From others I've heard the opposite.
Any ideas?
