Hi all,

I'm thinking about getting one new P3 mobo. Do you think it still makes sense to by a BX based mobo? Performance wise, is the new SE6R as good as (or better than) BX133?! How about stability?

Thanks,

Rayon

i have the standard SE6 815 chipset from ABIT and have had it running my 700 PIII upto 980mhz completly stable, i have run it at 933 for the last 4 months at default voltage with no hickups at all.

Thanks for the feedback, criminalist.

I have my P3700E running @1001MHz in my BE6-2, but I think the processor does matter more in this case. I'm actually looking for a motherboard that can keep up with my BE6-2 in stability and speed and add some extras like AGP4x (not a big deal) and RAID. I ran out of slots ... that's why I'm looking for an on-board RAID solution.

Thank you,

Rayon.

I think you will do fine with any 815e chipset mobo they seem to be awesome. I have the asus cusl2 and it is excellent so you might want to try that one unless you are super loyal to abit. Either way you will win:)

Maybe you can help me out here since you did very well with your SE6 and PIII 800. I can only seem to get my PIII 800 on my SE6 to overclock to 870? Lame. I am sure it is something I am doing. Here are my settings so far:

Alpha PAL6035
PIII 800EB

1.65 volt
145 FSB X 6
Mushin 128 Ram at 133 (almost two hundred dollars thank you very much)

If I go above 145 FSB I have to flash my CMOS to get my computer to work again? What seting should I be using in my BIOS?

Thanks a ton!
