Abit BH6 woes - What can cause an install failure?

I ran across an old diehard BH6 with a Celly 300A. Put it together and tried RedHat 7.2 install. Failed at kernel install. Tried Mandrake 8.1...same thing. I tried this with the ram in different banks. I tried it with a good PII 233. No dice, not a successfull install. My other two components are in known working condition: Ati Rage 4mb PCI, Seagate 8 GB hd, and Mushkin PC100 256 MB. Here's the kicker! I installed W2K twice. Ran Prime 95 for hours. Same thing with SiSandra...burned in for hours. Very stable machine! Anyone have a clue?

Dunno, I've had all those systems (Mandrake 7, Redhat 6.x, Win 98, Win2K) on my BH6/300a and they all worked (overclocked). Maybe try updating to the latest bios, if you haven't already. And be careful, there are 2 different bioses for the different revision of the BH6 (V1.0 and V1.1+). Right now, i'm only running Win2K, so I can't be of more help...

I flashed my rev 1.01 board to the SS version. This is the third BH6 I've owned. Never had this happen before. Just thought I'd check to see if anyone has seen before.
