Abit BH6 & Windows XP problem

I have recently upgraded by PC from Windows 98 to XP due to stability problems.
The upgrade was not as smooth as the Box promised! I have a few hardware problems, which I resolved eventually. One thing that was of concern though is was my RAM. I previously used 2 x 256Mb 133 sticks, but XP kept throwing up a "Memory Management" error. The only was I could complete the installation was to strip down to a single 64Mb 100 stick. Can anyone throw any light on this problem?

My current spec:

Abit BH6 v 1.01, flashed to "SS"
Celeron 1Ghz processor
40gb Maxtor HDD
6.4Gb Fujitsu HDD (Slave)
😕

I use Win2K, not XP but it should be the same. Page file is your swap file, virtual mem, etc. It should be under advanced/performance options. Win2K likes the paging file to be larger than the ram. Try setting the minimum size to larger than the 512 meg you want to use (try 600 Meg). See if that helps.
