Couldn't find out how much shipping is without going deep into the ordering process. They have a reputation of high shipping though.

I guess I need a new prescription.😀
You can save 50 cents if you buy it from McGlen.com (rumored to be owned by the same company). Same price and $4.95 for UPS Ground.

I hope these are good, I just ordered a couple for my celeron 533's.

Interesting that for 2 mb's the shipping is $7.45 or so. I bounced through the clearance section and found jewel cases for .05 each, put 20 in the shopping cart and my shipping went up to $24...They got removed reallll fast..

Teac 3.5 floppy - $4.95...good huh...Shipping $10..ugh..

As hkchan says, beware of their shipping..

wasn't this replaced with the BE6-II? Why is $70 for a discontinued board a good deal? (I'm asking, not telling.)

I use one of these and it is pretty nice...if your celeron hits 100 fsb you are ok...if not then your next step is 83 fsb. That is the only difference that I have personally noticed, but I am sure there are others...I didnt like the ata/66 controllers so I went with a BF6 and got an ata/100 card (BF6 trades the controllers for an extra PCI slot)

The Abit board is discontinued but still a nice stable product. Still, I don't see the point if you are starting from scratch. At $70 for the board and $80 or so for Celeron 533s you will be lucky to hit 600mhz (no way will you hit 100 bus speed). You can get a Soyo board and AThlon Slot A 600 right now from compgeeks for $140 plus shipping (with mastercard discount). That will eat the celerons for breakfast and have room left for lunch.

android, it was discontinued, but the replacement board isn't that much better. They removed an ISA slot (but didn't add a PCI slot in its place), and did one other thing that escapes me at this time. I remember it as not being very important to me. For a cheap, good motherboard $70 is a decent price for a retail name brand mb. access also has a tekram via 133 mb for $40, but I am reading about problems with VIA & Matrox & SB Live (my video & sound cards of choice), so I stayed away from it...

My apologies, I had not thought of the Celeron/coppermine idea I was thinking slot 1. The slotkit would probably get you up to 800 mhz or a bit more which ain't bad. On the other hand, if you added one of the cheap GFDs that have been kicking around this board to the athlon my guess is that the athlon would still beat it in nearly all applications.

actually the BE-6 can go to 100mhz, i remember back in the days of the 300A->450, yeap, that was a beauty. but now i have a BE-6 II w/ a 700->1001 (and i got my PC check too)
