Hi , I just install this morning the Be6_II,... and i just finish installing all the hardware and the ATA66 Hot Rod .
Do i need to install also the""Pci Bridge Driver "" who is placed on the Abit's Be6_II original Cdrom ?
Also therre it's any AGP Drivers what i must install ? or any drivers ?
Look like after instaling a Sound Blaster PCI card i hawe lockups and the Windows does not reboot any more ??
Wich are the best Bios IRQ settings ?
Tank you for your help .

are you using win98? don't worry about any drivers for the bx chipset, there is native support in newer operating systems. you should flash to the latest bios, and consider not using the highpoint ata66 controller as it is a trouble maker. don't put anything in the pci slot next to the AGP slot if you have an AGP vid card. (you can sometimes get away with soft modems in the 1st PCI slot) move your cards around. sound can usually share w/ a nic. good luck.

Have you checked device manager to see if there are any probs there, especially with the scsi controller,( ata66)... If there is a prob, there will be a red X or an exclamation point on it.

been a while since i had my BE6-II, but i remember the optimal irq setting was to have sound card on pci slot 4 or 5... and then try putting everything else under it on 5,6... unless you have more cards ,... but generally if you have the sound on 4 and set the irq manually for irq 5 as legacy ISA, then you'll have a separate irq for vid and sound, everything else will fall into place... hope this helps although it's pretty general... = P

Tank you guys for your help!!
Everything work just perfect whithout any PCI cards inside ;....but if i try to stick my 10/100 PCI Network card in any slot's ( 2,3,4,5) the computer start's to take a lot more time to load windows (it's kinda stuck 20 sec. when the windows logo apear)
Once the Network card 10/100 instaled he can not conect to Lan (no way to reach internet), also i hawe Rebooting problems,... does not reboot and shoot-down any more.
If i look in IRQ settings it's not write any conflict therre ???
I hawe : Quantum LM ata 66 7200rpm
128 Mushkin Rev2 Ram
Hercules MX Videocard
Abit BE6_II
P III 600E @ 800EB
I hawe Win98SE .

Read Page 1-4 of your manual it will explain how the IRQ and Bus master sharing is set up.
even if device mangler is not showing any conflicts that does not mean there are none.
the best set up on that board is to leave PCI 3 and 5 empty.
if your installing a NIC put it in PCI 4

As to the Network card, once in windows, Right clik Network neighborhood, then clik properties, then pick the tcp connection for your card/properties, give the card an address ot 10.0.0.1 and a subnet of 255.255.255.0 clik ok, and ok again/ reboot, and after that initial reboot the lag should shorten quite a bit in boot. The OS is looking for an addy for the card, which is why it takes so long at boot.
