I spent all day trying to figure out if that proc does exist. Well accord to this thread it does but finding it is another thing. ALOT of complaints with people who have the abit and asus board and the board doesnt recognize the proc. onrebate.com has a $100 mir on this proc but too risky for me.

Weird...so what is the difference between the 3500+ and this chip, then? They both appear to be 130nm, 1.5v 2.2ghz newcastle chips with 512kL2 cache.

When I receive my belated TigerDirect/Soyo rebates, I'll think about it.

The 3400+ has only 800mhz HT rather than 1Ghz

This is a 90nm 939 chip with 1000mhz ht. You will need to flash with the latest bios before system will start. Will have to have new bios on floppy and try to hit ALT+F2 at the right time (took me about 10 tries). Happy with it now,cool running powerful chip. Will have to wait and see when or if rebate comes through.

gateT -

Can you confirm it is a 90nm chip? All AMD specs (part number = ADA3400DEP4AZ) point to 130nm.

E = 1.5v (Newcastle)
P = 70 degrees (Newcastle)

Would expect that these would be "I" and "K" as other Winnies.

Can you paste something from CPUID?

TigerDirect is very bad news.

Do a BBB online search on them and you will see:

"Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to a pattern of complaints an unanswered complaint, unresolved complaints and a failure to resolve complaints within the Bureau?s time frame. "

sorry, that just seemed so important that it merited repetition.

People must still buy from them for them to be still in business. Also AMD used them for the retail workers last summer to buy stuffs from them. I did not get my rebate until a week ago and I sent it in July. I had to plead to AMD to get my rebate.

Most shoppers don't know about BBB.
Hearing that this is from Tiger's Direct, I'm going to put back my credit card and look else where.

Bad_Dude, that's an awefully long time to wait for a rebate.

Sorry your right it's a newcastle.Must have been thinking that all the 939s were the 90nm core. Haven't tried OCing it yet (don't have to).3Dmark scores are not that much higher then my Barton 2500m OCed to 2.4(maybe 1000pts in 03) but in games you can tell there is no contest,this thing just powers through everything from RTW,HL2,Doom 3. Feel a little studid that I assumed it was a 90nm but still happy with the system. But as people are saying rebate still a question?

I get quite a few coworkers that ask me for advice on computer parts, they send me a link and guess where it's to... Maybe TD is at the top of several price search engines or something.

Purchased this combo on 2/10/05. Sent rebate in on 2/18/05 and just received my $100 via Paypal on 3/11/05. My first rebate with Tigerdirect and I'd have to say my easiest and fastest.

TD is OK, although they do piss a lot of people off with the rebates. Their rebates are handled with another company and its obviously not in that company's interest to send you a check all the time. I usually only buy from when when they have the lowest price and no MIR, although some people like to live on the dangerous side.
