ABIT AT7 Legacy Free Mobo, What do you Think?

IMHO this board offers a lot of nice features but is way expensive. If you need RAID a much better alternative is either the Epox or Gigabyte which are both $40-50 less expensive. Most people do not need Firewire, optical in/out and some of the other stuff included. Also, why include 4xUSB 1.1 instead of a total of 6x USB 2.0? USB 2.0 is backwards compatible.

Legacy-free is great for anyone except owners of legacy devices, such as certain printers (which don't need replacing thankyouverymuch) or keyboards, etc.
I use too many legacy devices to even consider this approach.

Heck, I wish I still had an ISA slot or two! 🙂

What do I think? Do you really wanna know? 😀 😛

It's another over-hyped, over-priced ABIT piece of sh!t. But, that's just IMHO. I don't see how saying "legacy free" encourages people to spend $40-odd more over similiar boards, especially with ABIT's infamous quality control issues and shoddy return policies.

Maybe I'm still bitter from the string of PoS KT7A's I suffered through last year... 🙂
