I have been trying for two weeks now to get in touch with Abit and it seems like no-one works at that company or atleast in the the customer service department. Every time I call I get a message saying "I will be back to my desk soon, please try again in a little while." So I finally gave up, I think I will go with a company that has better customer service after being reamed by Abit. Can anyone recommend a company with some half way descent Customer Service. By the way it was a KT7-Raid that just quit.

I've actually had good luck with Soyo - I spent some time talking to them on the phone, and they were kind enough to let me do _three_ RMA's with them _in person_ (I live a half hour away from their Fremont office).

Of course, of all the boards I had, I had to RMA the Soyo SY-6VBA133 three times. :)

Dont quote me on this, but I heard Soltek have very good customer support. Someone here mentioned 24 hour turnaround for email support. Im about to buy a Soltek SL-75DRV mobo. VIA KT266 based DDR board, its had positive reports and is cheaps as! I dont understand why more ppl arent interested in it. If you do a search for Soltek you should find the posts where someone talks about their customer service experiences with Soltek.

Other than that, dont buy a mobo direct from the manufacturer. Pay a little more and get it from a well known store. That way, if something goes wrong, send it straight back to the store, let them sort it out. I had a BH6 that was faulty and because I live in Australia, I had to buy it from a store. I sent it back to them and had a new one within a few days.

Buying from a store also means you can choose the mobo brand that suits you best, without having to worry about customer support.

Good luck with it.

I spent $15 in long distance calls trying to get through to Abit. Never did. Emails go un-answered except by their auto response that says they MAY respond within 6 weeks, but because of their high volume, they don't answer every email. MAY respond? 6 weeks? I'll never buy Abit again. I bought an Asus replacement and have never had a problem.
