The only kids that have a clue don't look like your typical white American. Do white Americans not have any talks with their kids explaining the real world?

I have to say that it is embarassing to see our American youth so uninformed. What do parents do, hide them from the coverage?

I didn't see the broadcast, but if I were you I'd run like hell and hide. ;)

Well since you started a thread about something on TV which for the most part only you were watching, would you mind to fill in some detail to go along with your analysis?

A kiddy forum on ABC, I've no idea what that is, something like the Mickey Mouse club? Was it pre-taped? How old were the children? Why do you think it's just white kids?

The kids ranged from probably fourth grade through eighth grade. A few guest adults brought some younger kids. The guests were generally much better at preparing their kids for recovery than the average kids in the audience. The younger kids were very poor communicators.

(Being a former teacher I can tell you from experience that this was a very poor representation of how intelligent the kids should be at these ages.)

One example:

LBG = Little Blonde Girl (around a 4th grader)
PJ = Peter Jennings

PJ: "Why did the terrorists do this?"
LBG: "Because they were afraid to have us there. They wanted to be gigantic." (I am not sure what her point was, but she liked the word gigantic.)

PJ: "Who did this?"
LBG: "I think they didn't like us. I think Afgani... Afghanistan did this because they don't much care about us so I don't much care about them..."

I watched part of it. The children seemed to be from about 8 years old to 13 years old or so. They expressed their opinions on what happened, and what is going to happen. The only part I saw, a 12 year old girl with Arabic features was debating with a 12 year old white boy about why the terrorists acted. She was saying that it is retribution for all the bombing WE (USA) have done to the Middle East. The white boy then was saying that nothing we have done could justify flying airplanes into office buildings. Then she would repeat again how the poor middle east has been repressed and poor for so long, that it was inevitable that this would happen.

I turned it off after that.

I didn't see any stupid white American children. But I didn't watch the whole show either.

Kids < 18 years old tend to simply echo the opinions of the parents. So why talk to children who are just voicing the opinion of their biased parents?

Oh, I see. Thanks for explaining. IMO those kids are just being exploited by PJ and their own parents or whoever it was trotted them in for a public showing. I think a lot of adults can't really explain why what happened did happen.
