Abbreviations for PCI-Express and PCI-X

This is something that I've been curious about. Are there official abbreviations for PCI-Express and PCI-X, the 64bit PCI slot used in servers?

I see official sites like AT and FS using PCIe to denote PCI-Express, but I see a lot of users on various forums using PCI-X to denote PCI-Express.

Any comments?

PCI-X is not an abbreviation, it is the official name of the specification.

The official abbreviation for PCI Express is actually PCIe.

Thats what I thought.

Somebody please tell the people to start using the correct abbreviations.

What I want to know is what idiot decided that the new PCI spec should be PCI-Express when they already had PCI-X! Should have come up with a name that wouldn't be naturally abbreviated the same way... or not gone with the goofy PCI-X name to begin with.
