Alright, I have a new monitor. It is a Viewsonic VP201b. I have a new computer. It is a Gigabyte DS3 with an E6600 and an X1900XTX. When I use them together, the computer and the monitor, that is, I get these stupid red dots / horizontal red lines across the screen - mostly on the left side, but a tiny bit on the right side. It drives me nuts. It only happens at 1600 x 1200, it's fine at lower resolutions. It mostly happens in Photoshop and such, and while gaming.

When I hook the computer up to my buddy's CRT, it works just fine...

When I hook the LCD up to my buddy's box it works just fine...

Aararrg. They both work, just not together?! What the heck?!?!?!

The afore mentioned friend thinks that it is because the LCD doesn't have an excellent response time (16ms) and the X1900XTX is just "too good" of a card for them to work together. I don't really think that sounds quite right. To further complicate matters, I had it working perfectly with my 2nd monitor which is the exact same model - but that one has a separate issue that has been around for several months and is requiring me to return it.

Please help. I'm going nuts.

Thanks.

Did you try the monitor on both DVI ports of the x1900xtx? One of the ports could be defective - pretty rare, but I've seen it happen on my friend's 7800gt.

Both ports seem to work just fine. :( And as I mentioned, other monitors work just dandy, just not this particular one - even though this monitor works on other computers.
