AAHHH!!! I hate Access!

MS Access is possibly the most evil program ever. It's hard to learn, boring, and makes classes about it horrendously slow and tedious. Good thing I can pull answers out of my @$$ and sometimes pay attention in class 😛.

So you're saying you're a lazy-ass underachiever who doesn't care to learn the fundimentals of ubiquitous business technology? Make sure you put that on your resume when you graduate please...

Actually, I'm a lazy-arse overachiever that doesn't care to learn the fundamentals of ubiquitous business technology. I will put that on my resume in the form of, "I hate software."

Access is easy, but sucks once you put enough data into the database.

My company is so onto that software that it's scary - our application support dude has been trying to move us to either MS SQL or Oracle, which we already have in house for other reasons.

I work for a food processing plant, and all of our data resides on a SQL server, with multiple access frontends. That's how I've learned Access, just by troubleshooting our systems, with help from our SQL developer of course 🙂

i haven't used access, but i guess its ok, it has that wizard mode to help you create a database.

All of my work that involves SQL has been done w/ either DB2 UDB, DB2 for Z/OS, or Oracle 9i.

Access is a festering pile of vomit. (If I posted what I really thought about Access, the mods would give me a month vacation.)

Access is quite simple if you know what you need to do with a database, only problem is it's terrible on the enterprise level, which is where Microsoft SQL comes in... it works quite similar to access, just a lot better. Stop complaining and think about what you're doing first.

I just wrote some code for an Access form that saves and reads XML data to a memo field in a table. That was kind of cool.
