Stupid customers and stupid techs...
...cleaning up the mess can be a bitch. I just ended a call with a man in Washington trying to fix his email. OE on an eMachines *cringe* -well, it gets better. He was working at this eleven (11) hours yesterday. He went through seven (7) Tier1 techs and one (1) Tier2 tech trying to get Outlook Express to get both his Earthlink and ATTBI mail working at the same time.
Previous techs removed and rebuilt the mail accounts in the main identity. They created new identities. They tried another computer entirely, but kept getting prompted for username and password for the ATTBI email server. One tech told him to call Earthlink to find the password, even though the mail server listed in the error was "mail.attbi.com" -and the subscriber actually did it, but obviously called back.
So I get the call and begin, naturally, by checking his settings. He's now back to just the two original accounts and one identity. By this time, the ticket notes are FREAKING HUGE and there's way too much to read through without putting the customer on hold and going to get some sort of muscle relaxant. But I did it anyway, and ended up asking him six minutes into the call if he has multiple passwords and if he might possibly use a different one. He typed another one in... ...it worked.

m2kewl - Comparing MS with a nef is quite a statement
jjones - I agree 100%, we have never had one problem with any customer who uses Dreamweaver. All it does it FTP the files over! There are no silly
server side extensions that get corrupt and require re-installing all the time. I recommend Dreamweaver all the time to clients who wanta WYSIWYG editor.

I have created a fully functional ASP site that does complicated db queries using Dreamweaver and Access... it was neither fun nor pretty but it was functional.
And i didn't call tech support once....![]()
