Aaaaaaaand its gone

Haha I saw that on jalopnik. The exterior of the car does not look bad at all considering he went airborne.

Yep, and an RS3 is a 60K Golf. There was already a thread about this, and the same concerns were brought up, and the answer hasn't changed. At this point, if you think a "35K Focus" is outrageous simply because it has "Focus" in the name, you either have not actually reviewed what the car is, or are choosing to remain willfully ignorant about it.

I assume the next civic type R is going to be 35k+ then too 😵

And yeah the wtf is totally because of the focus in the name.

At least he didn't take out another car. Good news is they will have plenty of time to suck each other off while waiting for the tow truck.

It could, but I doubt it will. While a lot of the Honda Fandom is calling it a Golf R and Focus RS competitor, in the real world it's more in between the performance and hot-hatch categories. It's like an even higher powered Focus ST, Golf GTI, or WRX, but it doesn't have AWD, and if compared to the Euro version currently available, doesn't have the same fit and finish luxury amenities that the competition has.

I've heard a lot of rumors of between 30K and 40K, but my guess is it will aim to be around the 30K ballpark to keep within range of its real competition.

That car has to be totaled. Airbags deployed, and that right front wheel looks absolutely destroyed. Probably large amounts of structural damage too.

Even if it isn't totaled and it spends months in the shop it will never drive or act the same.

He was lucky to impact an angled embankment where it appears the wheels took the brunt of the force. Some of the outer panels on the unibody might not quite be right, but it's possible the main subframes are largely unaffected.
