AA - AF settings

I recently built a new system which can be seen in my sig. I have never played with AF settings and really didn't know about them until reading some posts here.
I mainly play BF2 @ 1600x1200 with 4xAA - all set high

I don't recall ever seeing options for FA settings. I recall seeing AA which can be set to 6x and thats it. (in game settings)

I just downloaded the new 5.13 ATI drivers and CCC (had to download .NET crap too otherwise I got error messages on boot up and CCC wouldn't load)

So would I manually set my AA to 4x and FA to 16x in the control center? I believe I have them default at 'let game decide'.

I will play around with it tonight and take screenshots in the different settings. Then try to determine if I see any difference or how large of a difference was made.

I don't understand your question (if you really have one). If you want AF on, and the game doesn't have an option to enable it, you'll need to turn it on through the control panel/CCC. I'm not sure if BF2 can control this in-game.

If you're wondering what AF does, it makes textures on sharply angled objects (like the ground in front of you) look sharper. It does extra texture sampling on surfaces that are angled relative to the viewpoint of the rendered image, which helps eliminate moire and other sampling artifacts.
