yeah im tryin to do a wireless connection between me and my roomate, our computers are like, 6-7 feet apart, he gets a weak signal(one bar) and whenever he attempts to connect it says limited or no connectivity, im running windows xp 64bit and he's running windows xp sp2 regular, we both have stock network setups on the network control panel. he's using a wireless pci-802.11b and im using my onboard 802.11b/g.

Do you have 64 bits Drivers for the Wireless?

Did you configured bothe PC's Wireless to Ad-Hoc connection?

It depends on what you use.

Some times, it is in the card's drivers; most times, it is an option in the manufacturer wireless utility, and or Win XP SP2's WZC.

alright, well we just bought a wireless router and it was signal strength and not our computers that were the problems, now i have another question. how do you share files between the two computers, me and my brother used to be able to do it, now i dont remember how we did.
oh and i already have the files set to share as well...

ok, well we got the network up and file sharing working, i just wanna know how the heck do i enable WEP, i cant figure it out.

oh and bwt it supports WPA-PSK(no server), 128bit wep, 64bit wep, and wpa(with radius server).
