I'm running my second pair now, this even worse that the first that ran 3-4-4-8 2T @245. Now I'm running 3-4-4-8 2T @240. I've read tests showing much better results like 3-4-4-8-1T@270-290 (notice the 1T), and the rated speed is 3-4-4-8 @250 (2.75V). Raising the volt doesn't change anything in my case.
Has any1 experienced the same?

Can any1 recommend other 2x1 dual-kits with A8R-MVP?

this board sucks with all memory it seems. I had or have some old corsair pc3200llpt that wouldn't run at less than DDR400 at 1t, and now my g.skill ddr500 will not run at ddr480 at 1t even with unbelievably relaxed timings.

Well 1T is a problem beyond 220-260 (HTT) as far as I've read. The question is, if its not problem to go beyond...say 260 (memory) with good quality ram.

I'll look forward to your judgement mezzanine...

I got my 4000PT RAM today and after some quick tests the results are rather dismal. At 1T the RAM topped out at 220HTT and after switching to 2T the absolute highest i could go with stability was 240 at 3-4-4-8

More voltage and even slacker timings did nothing to get past this wall.

This set of Corsair is replacing 4x512 of Corsair 4400c25 which ALSO topped out at 240 on this board. Before i got this pair of 1gb sticks i was blaming my problems on the memory controller in my 3500 Venice but now i'm thinking it must be a fault of the board.

Hopefully Asus releases a bios soon that will fix these issues.

....I hope that is your motherboard..... I was considering that mem. Its supposed to overclock to 270mhz or so. Id doubt its the memory. Anyone have a different mobo with this mem have any experience?

I have little hope for this board any more, Asus has not shown much concern regarding any of its problems and it will likely be forgotten entirely once rd580 is launched.

Ok...i could live with 240, but then it'll be 2.5-3-3-6 or something. Well it probably won't, but 3-3-3-8 would satisfie me, cause the board overall satisfie my needs.
