A8N32-SLI Deluxe BIOS 1302

Heh i ain't gonna be the guinea pig.

I finally updated to 1205 just recently & it's working okay save for the warm boot BS, which i do not believe any bios will fix.

I've flashed mine and so far so good. Fixed annoying load problem w/ parallel port in Windows. Oh and they fixed the annoying Read Preamable / Max Async Latency. Well.. Halfly. Before the default was 9.5 / 11 which was way loose. Now it defaults to 6 / 9. But if you try to set it manually it still adds +2 on the MAL. You should keep it in mind when you tweak your memory timings.

Great...so upgrading my BIOS will yet again require me to verify that my RAM overclock is still stable. I can hardly wait to do that again. In the meantime, this warm boot thing is really annoying! They never post their bugfixes on ASUS beta bioses...but the official version are not usually too far behind.

Hey, off topic, but does anyone know of a mod bios for the A8N32-SLI Deluxe that sports a 150 RAM divider?

(150/200 aka 4:3 HTT:RAM)

I ask because i max out CPU around 2.6 GHz, which means i can either run 9x289 with 133 divider (DDR372 - underclocked ftl 🙁)

Or what i presently run is 8.5x306 with 133 divider which gives me exactly DDR400.

It'd be nice to have the 150 divider, as my RAM does around 230 (DDR460) max.
It'd put my RAM @ DDR433.

I haven't seen one. Actually this board is my first ASUS board which gave more than 100/133/166/200 dividers. (180 divider)

Ha...why waste time waiting for a modded BIOS, and then take risks with your whole rig. Wait a few weeks, and the price of a new Opty (with higher multi) will be forced so low (to compete...) that you probably be able to afford 2 of them

I have no interest in spending $$$ on A64-based hardware now that C2D's here 😉

Any temp changes as with the 1205?

Well, kinda. The CPU temp reads roughly 8 degrees C cooler. It's most likely they adjusted the sensor. I haven't seen much change in the mobo temp.

Hmm...ok. thanks for the info.....

Well, I can certainly second *that* sentiment.

Stupid question - what's the difference between the 1302.bin and the A8N32-SLI-ASUS-DELUXE-1302.ROM files? As far as I remember, the .bin is the actual BIOS, but what's the purpose of the .ROM?

I could be wrong but it might be used by the Windows based BIOS flash utility.
