A8N32-SLI Deluxe BIOS 1205

Do you know if you still have to disable LEGACY USB in the BIOS in order to get MEMTEST86 to pass tests 6 and above? Or have they fixed this?

Nice that this mobo gets a new BIOS, but the A8N-SLI Premium has been on a beta BIOS for 2 months now. I guess even the big mobo makers can suck too, eh? :|

Wowza, this bios owns. I dont know if its optimizing my motherboard usage lowering temps or reading them better, but when it was snowing outside I idled Motherboard and processor at 44 degrees, which was frustrating. Now I have 35 on idle processor (warmer weather by far) and 41 on motherboard.

Load went from roughly 47 mobo down to 42, and from 55 processor down to about 50. I dont know if this is simply a temperature monitor change or not, but I think it might be a power overhaul to get the 8 phase power working properly, because the chipset doesnt feel as physically hot anymore, and it used to get scorching when my hot CPU temps were blowing on the chipset heatsink.

edit... PS if you want to scare the poop out of yourself, set the bios to load defaults on start, and keep your monitors plugged in on the slot 2 video card. You get a nice black screen, because the default is PCI1->PCI2, and I was using PCI2->PCI1

Shazam!!! I was skeptical of the previous poster seeing better temps from a BIOS upgrade, but low and behold, here are my results...

BIOS 1103
Idle 41c CPU/40c Mobo
After Gaming 45c CPU /41c Mobo

BIOS 1205
Idle 34c CPU/39c Mobo
After Gaming 38c CPU/39c Mobo

Now I want to get some AS5 and redo my Arctic Cooler Freezer 64 Pro and see if I can get my CPU under 30c. If I can it is time for some larger overclocking attempt on my x2 4200 (2200MHz stock) than 2400 MHz which is the max I've done so far.

Has anyone with the A8N32 ever removed the heatpipe and replaced the stock TIM with AS5 on the components that the heatpipe cools?

Hmm, now i have to decide whether i actually want to update to this bios or not.

As for lower temps, that's great, i but i really don't believe they just magically went down.

Either they were being read too high before, or or now they're being read too low.

Are any of you having problems when plugging in external USB devices and having your boot ordered messed up? I just ordered this board for my work box and I'd hate to have this happen since I often plug in external USB devices such as external HDDs and thumbdrives.
