A8N32-SLI and Mushkin

Hey,

I've recently bought a A8N32-SLI and am no considering upgrading my memory, the http://www.mushkin.com/doc/products/memory_detail.asp?ID=245">Mushkin XP4000</a> looks pretty cool. However I've made a PC building career out of messing up 😛

Im concerned whether there will be an incompatibility with using an older 64-bit AMD Wincester 3500 core with this memory. It is revision D0 and would this make the device unsuitable for being used at higher DDR frequency ?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I think you'd be better off with Corsair for an ASUS board if you want to be careful about it. Corsair actually bills itself as an ASUS partner. Mushkin seems to be catering to DFI with their XP modules, and yeah, the Mushkin PC4000 modules look and review great. As soon as I can find another $340 I'm going to pop for a 2x1gig Redline fix. 😉 Bear in mind though, I've used Corsair XMS modules in two DFI boards with no problems at all.

I use the Redlines on my A8N32. The XP4000's use Samsung UCC chips which will work great too. Mushkin, OCZ, Patriot, Corsair and several more all use the same chips for their memory.
