A8N-SLI vs. DFI SLI NF4

So, which of these boards will be better all around, particualrly in gaming? ALso, I know the DFI will probably be better for OC'ing, but is the A8N capabale of getting OC's of around 400mhz (2.2GHz to 2.6GHz)? Thanks.

True...Is the ASUS board reliable and stable? And also, does ASUS have a Windows based BIOS Flashing tool?

Based on past personal experience I'd bet the DFI will out perform the Asus.

ASUS does have a windows based BIOS update utility, and if you KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, their boards are excellent for stability and reliability. See my sig for my setup - running two weeks now without a single problem whatsoever.

Just make sure you know what you're doing. A lot of people have been having trouble with the A8N-SLI Deluxe because they don't read the manual, and are half-educated. Most of the problems with this motherboard turn out to be human error.

Yea. I've read the A8N Manual twice now (PDF). I guess I'll wait and get the mobo last and go on ahead and get what I have left.

i dont like asus boards compared to dfi because the dfi ones overclock so much easier/better (just look at those bios options!)

I have to throw this in, Hell Yeah they overclock better but, I think their main feature is Travis. Well not just travis himself but the entire DFI tech support team. They are great. I built my first computer on a DFI NF2 LP and neeless to say I killed more than one BIOS chip and I had one from them THE NEXT DAY.

DFI is just an all around excellent company. I expect them to take their place among the long established giants before too long.

First of all, the overclock you're planning is so easy on the motherboard (11*236) that any with working AGP/PCI lock will do, as long as you get a processor that can be overclocked to that speed.

The ASUS board has a better layout in my opinion, and it's also available right now. The DFI looks like an amazing board, but you will have to know how to tune it for performance. It has what looks (or sounds) like a better chipset fan too.

Why would he need and AGP lock? What he would actually need is a working SATA/PCI-E lock.
