I was installing winxp on my a8n-sli with 1008 final bios last night, and I noticed that my usb mouse would not work during the install. It's a logitech MX700, and I've never had problems with it working during installs before.

I thought maybe the bios was to blame, so I tried flashing to 1009.002. This didn't help anything, so I decided to just continue on and let windows xp finish installing.

The mouse wouldn't work in windows either. In fact, I don't think it worked until after I installed SP2, and then the nvidia chipset drivers.

Has anyone else had this problem? It's quite a pain in the butt to navigate through windows without a mouse!

Check to see that USB Legacy support is enabled in the bios. It's in the USB configuration menu, under the advanced sttings. It should be enabled by default, to support the USB keyboards and mice in non windows environments. You could try it both ways and see if it makes a difference.

that was my first thought...unfortunately that didn't work. i tried reflashing the bios again, and this time i used the /cp /cd switches. before i had been using /cc /cd.

in any case, it seems to be working fine now. thanks for your help!
