Which faster - better; Nvraid or the Silicon Image.... or are they both the same?

I've got a second 74gb raptor on the way from the newegg sale this weekend 😀

thanks

btw, here's the specs in case anyone's interested:

A64 4400+ X2 @ 2.5ghz
Thermalright SI-120 w/ panaflo L1A 120mm
A8N-SLI Premium
2x1gb crucial ballistix pc4000 250x10 1T
Antec TPII 550w
6600GT

I'd use the silicon image...but only because of issues I've had with the nvidia raid drivers on installs. Speed wise they are probably not that far off.

well, the reason i ask is because on the NF7-S, the silicon image 3112, (little brother of the 3114) was bridged through the PCI bus and was actually pretty slow, whereas the nvraid is right on the southbridge.

any thoughts on this?

I don't know if it is on that board or not, but probably is.

I have run into some strange issues installing the nvraid driver during setup...but that was on an Abit board. Meh...why not try the NVRaid and see what happens. No trouble with drivers in windows once it was installed but was a pain to install. Don't know why...maybe they have an update by now that fixed that issue. Give it a shot, see what happens.
