I had a few problems as everyone has with this board. But now after quite a bit of tweaking I am happy to say it is running nicely. Prime95 stable. The overclock is not huge but it is somewhere to start for a while. This board was a challenge, but as I think back so was my original athlon 650, T-bird 1400. Now I need to do some benchmarks. I had much better luck when I moved to the 1003-005 bios and played with the cpu voltage a bit. I am using a memory divide 5/6 for now also. Stick with those boards, they will come around.

I'm curious about your "older modified full-tower", because I've become so committed to resurrecting old full-tower steel cases, it is a certifiable addiction. Dremel, nibble, BEND! Dremel nibble BEND! Dremel Dremel Dremel Dremel Dremel nibble BEND!

What voltages are you using for CPU and mem??

PD: Sig says you are running 200Mhz. Isnt that 1:1 ??

200/240 = .8333
1/1 = 1
Nah, it's not 1:1. it's 5:6 (or 6:5 as all you backwards people like to say it).

I think Im still confused about this memory divider thing....He has PC3200 (200Mhz DDR) running @200 (in his sig says it)...isnt that 1:1 ??? Or just he forgot to update his sig? Or...theres a concept Im missing...

I got rid of my random rebooting problem I had early on by manually setting my memory voltage to 2.6V which is what the hyper X recommended. My CPU voltage is at 1.465V.

Relion,
when the bus is at 240 MHz then the ram would be running at 240MHz if a ram divider was not used. By using a ram divider the ram runs at a speed that is about 16.5% slower or a 5 to 6 ratio. This is a little easier on the ram timings and doesn't affect performance a whole lot.

As for the older modified tower, I also can't see wasting a perfectly good full tower. So I added a fan here and there, dremmel, dremmel, and tried to make it flow as smooth as possible. I only wish it wasn't beige, because everything else I have is black or silver.

Thanks for the explanation Nitro....I have and A8N too...but I have cheap memory ... what settings/voltages would you recommend me to run @ 2200Mhz ?

you could try the following:
CPU speed= 240
HTT = 4x
9x multiplier
ram divider at 5:6 this means set to DDR333 on the mem settings
set your ram speeds to whatever their spec sheet says they run at DDR400 since the mem divider gives you approx. 200MHz
also manually set the ram voltage to their indicated setting (i.e. 2.6V etc.)
try your cpu voltage at auto but you can always try bumping it to 1.45 or a little more if things are acting weird.
this will start you out at 2160MHz which is a pretty minimal OC and should be nice and stable.

If this is stable then you can go up a bit more. Just try to keep your ram at about 200MHz, just take your HTT times .833 and this will give you your ram speed.

I wouldn't be at all suprised if you just changed the multi to 10X that everything would run just fine, that is essentially what mine is at.

i have a pretty close setup as yours but i was under the impression that when you set the divider to DDR333, it is actually doing 4/5. am i wrong? is it 5/6 or 4/5?

btw, Reblion, try uping the Vdimm and/or Vcore when you get stuck.

Where is the memory divider? I can't find any settings in the Bios for it. I'm really excited because my 3500 chip is running at 39c under full load with my super copper heatsind/fan.

Okay this looks like a great post to ask. I've got a similar setup (3000+, A8N-SLI DLX, 1GB CORSAIR 2,2,2,5) and want o overclock to around 2.1Ghz and keep the memory at the lowest latency (200Mhz). I've notice that I have to manual change everything in the bios. If I let the bios auto something it doesn't work right. I'll try what you just recommended to Relion.

By dropping the HT down to 4 vs 5 will I see a big difference in gaming/performance? By using a divider will I still run in Dual Channel?
